ICT
Currently, we have Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT) class at MS 428.
ICT is a classroom model that combines students with and without Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in the same classroom. The goal of ICT is to provide students with IEPs the special education services they need while still being included with their peers.
In an ICT classroom, two teachers work together to teach the same curriculum and meet the needs of all students:
Teachers: One teacher is a general education teacher, and the other is a special education teacher.
Students: Up to 40% of the students in the class may have IEPs.
Curriculum: The curriculum is the same as in other classrooms of the same grade.
Instruction: The teachers adapt materials and modify instruction to ensure all students can participate.
